Boards
Every decision your board makes is a human decision. That is your greatest strength. And most significant risk.
Why This Matters
Organisations apply forensic precision to their finances, technology, and supply chains.
Then they leave their most consequential decisions — who leads, how strategy is formed, how risk is evaluated — to intuition and consensus.
That gap has a cost. Decades of research in organisational psychology and behavioural science have established that even the most experienced leaders carry systematic, predictable blind spots. The science to address them exists.
Destrier Group applies it.
The Three Disciplines
Organisational Psychology
The scientific study of how people think, perform, and interact inside organisations. Every Destrier engagement is designed, delivered, and evaluated according to its principles.
Psychometrics
The science of psychological measurement. Not personality quizzes — validated instruments with demonstrated predictive power for leadership performance, decision quality, and team effectiveness. Research consistently shows structured psychological assessment outperforms unstructured judgement in predicting leadership outcomes (Schmidt & Hunter, 1998).
Behavioural Neuroscience
How the brain processes information under pressure, navigates uncertainty, and responds to social influence. We understand what that means for the environments in which senior leaders operate daily.
The Decision-Making Problem
The central challenge of board and executive leadership is not a shortage of intelligence or experience.
It is the gap between how human beings actually make decisions and how governance frameworks assume they do.
Groupthink suppresses the dissent most likely to prevent poor decisions. Authority bias silences the voices most likely to identify risk. Confirmation bias ensures leaders seek information that supports what they already believe.
These are not character flaws. They are features of human cognition; measurable, predictable, and addressable (Kahneman, 2011; Janis, 1982).
That is precisely what we measure.

Human-AI Partnership
AI is not replacing human judgement in the boardroom. It is raising the stakes for getting that judgement right.
Research on human-AI systems shows consistently that outcomes depend less on the capability of the AI than on the cognitive sophistication of the humans working alongside it (Jarrahi, 2018; Daugherty & Wilson, 2018).
Boards that understand how they think — and where their thinking fails — turn AI into a genuine competitive advantage. Those that do not introduce as much risk as they remove.
Destrier Group works at this frontier.
